Faith, its beauty is expressed by artists and the religious in various art forms as poetry, music, visual arts, songs and by the faithful in our own unique devotion and tradition imbedded in our culture.

Foundation of this belief is in Christ as the truth and Christ as the way and how He is with us through the sacraments fit in the cycle of the ups and downs of our lives.

The 50-minute documentary produced by Jesuit Communications highlights the beauty of life through faith “bigyan pansin ang mga maganda sa buhay.” Kwaresma shows us the ugliness of life but because of faith, beauty prevails “Kwaresma pagharap sa pangit. Dahil sa pananampalataya, nanaig ang kagandahan.”

When we realize the beauty of life, we share it.

Aired initially in 2019, now during the 2020, 2021 pandemic, the messages resonate. “sa kalagayan natin ngayon, ang pagkapit sa pananampalataya ang magbibigay lakas at pagasa. Siya ay nandyan para sa atin sa pamamagitan ng mga sakramento."

While we with the rest of humanity struggle through life, let us further deepen our faith for strength and hope.

As the two start their 9-mile walk to fulfill the mission, they seemed not alone but walking with me. I too felt the grief.

Crying out of Frustration

When the situation has become so intense, we cry. Tears are a healthy release to help one cope.

It is a mechanism that lets us come to terms with our frustration.

It airs out the grievances out in the open.

Crying out of frustration stops the internalising of the pain.

Once we have recovered, it brings us back to our bearings.

When Vincent, the project manager in the movie The Hummingbird Project was overwhelmed with the major obstacles in completing the straight line on time and at the same time confronting his health issue, he cried unabashedly in the massage cubicle.

When Lance Corporal William Schofield in the movie 1917 survived the German attacks at the enemy line and the death defying river dive and cross, overwhelmed with still the two tasks to be delivered, he cried unabashedly alone at the riverbank.

Statued Pinoy Daily Workers

Statues were installed in QC honor the contribution and importance of the street sweeper, the visually impaired person and other daily workers to the city.

Further check with the QC City Administration office via web inquiry, the two statues spotted at Mother Ignacia st. are part of a contest honouring the workers such as security guard, mang tataho, traffic enforcer and other daily wage workers.

Winners of the art contest earned recognition in the DBM national program meriting installation and funding at the QC's Green Open Reclaimed Access Lane (GORA Lane) drive along Hemady, Scout Tobias, Mother Ignacia streets. GORA Lane makes streets walkable.

Statues were erected this 2021 to add visual delight. Works were done by the artists affiliated with Artalyer. ARTALYER is a Fine Arts and Decorative Arts Workshop Studio dedicated to assist and help broaden the knowledge of anyone interested to learn the Basic and Advance Techniques and History of Art Making. List of artists to be posted soon.

The sculptures along the GORA lane are made by ARTALYER CACCDI (Center for Artistic and Cultural Community Development Inc) Artists with Mr. Paul Quiano as the head sculptor.

The sculptures located at the three roads (Dona Hemady Ave., Sct. Tobias St. and Mother Ignacia Ave. aim to depict the daily life of Quezon City residents that also reflect the traditional Filipino culture. Design of statues include Street sweeper, Taho vendor, Balut vendor, school children, newspaper seller, construction worker. The design is also inclusive as it includes women, children, senior citizens and PWDs. Placing these sculptures in a public space hopes to make the experience of art more accessible for everyone.
